Non-Surgical Spinal Disc Repair (Spinal Decompression)

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is a highly effective treatment for stubborn back or neck pain caused by conditions such as Herniated and Bulging Discs (or Slipped Discs), Sciatica (burning or shooting pain that radiates down the leg), Degenerative Disc Disease, Facet Syndrome, Spinal Stenosis, and Failed Back Surgery.

How does is work?

Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is a relatively new type of treatment that provides relief for chronic back and neck pain that could previously only be treated with surgery. Spinal decompression is an advanced form of traction that can actually target the specific disc that is causing the problem, and allow the body to naturally heal or regenerate the disc. The specific vertebrae surrounding the target discs are slowly forced apart during Spinal Decompression Therapy until a negative vacuum is formed. This vacuum pulls the bulging disc back into place and allows nutrients and healing factors to enter the disc and repair it naturally. The disc repair and disc bulge reduction removes pressure off the spinal nerves and drastically reduces pain and disability.

At iMed Regeneration Center, we use only the State-of-the-Art DRX9000® machine to achieve the best possible results. This machine has a built-in feedback mechanism to sense when the muscles are tensing up and to relax the pull at that very moment so that the muscles will not go into spasm the way they do with other traction or decompression machines. The treatment motion is controlled by high tech computer algorithms to provide gentle and painless decompression of the injured spinal discs. The machine will cycle between brief moments of pulling and relaxing (oscillation). The DRX9000® machine also incorporates advanced angulated methods to target specific discs of the spine. This allows the the targeted discs to rehabilitate and repair themselves naturally from within after the pressure is removed.

Results are usually achieved over a course of approximately 20-28 treatments, depending on the severity of the problem. The sessions are approximately 35-45 minutes long and start at 3 times a week for the first few weeks. The therapy is very comfortable, and many patients fall asleep during treatments.
